These teams include: The University of Alabama, Kansas State University, North Carolina State University, Oklahoma State University, and The University of Louisiana Lafayette. Sequestration To Withhold Millions From State Fish And Wildlife Programs BIRMINGHAM, Ala. — If the federal government’s sequestration scheme to reduce spending continues as originally planned, millions of dollars will be withheld from the states for managing fish and wildlife. “I’m very sad that this is happening, and I’m disappointed that leaders in our government can’t work together to fix this,” said Noreen Clough, national conservation director for B.A.S.S. and former Southeast Region director of the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service. “It is going to hurt resource management by limiting what the state and federal agencies can do.” The current … Continue reading →

BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship

This year’s BoatUS Collegiate Bass Fishing Championship was a great success. With 206 teams, this years event was the largest in the seven year history. 1425 bass were brought to the weigh-in totaling 3,032lb of fish. The BassPack of NC State ended up taking home the title BoatUs Collegiate Bass Fishing Champions. Lazer TroKar was a proud sponsor of this great championship event. Lazer TroKar has a dominating start to the 2012 season.

Team TroKar could not ask for a better start to the 2012 season. After two Elite series events, Lazer TroKar pros Skeet Reese and Brent Chapman have the one and two spots for Angler of the Year. Jeff Kriet and Shaw Grigsby have each had a top 10 finishes in a Bassmaster Elite series. Gerald Swindle, Jason Williamson, and Jonathan VanDam have each achieved a top 25 this season with only a few events down. Only time will tell how the season will end up.
